In 2002 I took part in a contest by Rail Magazine. The theme of the contest was 'rails and water' with a maximum size of 80 x 100 centimeters. I chose a part of Amersfoort where I live and reconstructed the original bridge that was built in the 19th century but destroyed during WW II by the Germans to stop the allied forces. The model is in H0 (1:87) scale and the buildings on the background are 1:100 scale to create more depth. I won second price out of twenty-four contestants and the model is now permanent part of the collection of Flehite, the historical museum of the city of Amersfoort.
